The Dilapidations Association is pleased to invite students from Building Surveying / Construction Law programmes BSC and MSc to consider submitting a dissertation or thesis work relating to dilapidations.
The Dilapidations Association, as part of our commitment to encouraging research and professional development within the dilapidations field, are keen to recognise and promote high-quality academic work that contributes to the advancement of knowledge and best practice in dilapidations.
We welcome any eligible postgraduate students to apply. Students whose research demonstrates originality, practical relevance, or innovative thinking in areas connected to dilapidations are encouraged to participate. Ideally, we would want submissions that are currently viewed by the school as being at least an upper second / merit level.
- By submitting a dissertation:
- The author gives consent to use some or all of the dissertation content in publicity for the Association
- The author allows the dissertations to be loaded onto the Association portal
- Agrees to the decision of the Committee as to the winner of the Dissertation Prize as being final
- The prize will be awarded based on the views of the Committee, taking into consideration:
- Originality
- The subject matter being relevant to the field of dilapidations
- Pushes forward the current thinking on the topic of dilapidations
- looking at the future of dilapidations
Selected submissions may be considered for:
- Recognition by the Dilapidations Association.
- Presentation opportunities at Association events.
- Publication or summary features within Association communications; and
- Networking opportunities with leading practitioners in the sector.
- A Prize of up to £500
